The Liminal Theatre Collective is a New York City-based ensemble of multidisciplinary artists dedicated to developing and producing new and reimagined works by artists of color. Our work interrogates the spaces between tradition and change – breaking from established constructs to catalyze dialogue and transformation.
Through comprehensive, community-based programming and initiatives, we are cultivating the next generation of diverse theatre makers while redefining the stage as a space for collective connection, empowerment, and access for all.

OUR INAUGURAL LIMINAL SALON!
CARPAL TUNNEL BY CORI DIAZ
The Liminal Salon is a new gathering series inspired by the apartment salons of the Harlem Renaissance. These evenings bring artists and audiences together to explore new work, share ideas, and spark conversation. It is a space for community, curiosity, and creative exchange: informal, generative, and alive.
Carpal Tunnel is a semi-experimental, meta-absurdist dramedy about a group of writers on a chaotic retreat whose quest to create “authentic” art spirals into a hilarious and unsettling exploration of ego, identity, and the myth of the tortured artist.

IN HER HOUSE
Another sold-out run!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second Liminal Lab, In Her House, at The Flea Theater!
Set in May 2020, In Her House follows four half-Igbo siblings as they return home to clear their late mother’s belongings. Over the course of two days, grief, memory, and long-buried tensions collide, forcing them to confront legacy, identity, and the fragile space between accountability and love. A soulful new play with music, written and directed by TLTC Artistic Director Azudi Onyejekwe.
